2018 Jeep Compass
The 2018 Jeep Compass – a little brother for the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The 4×4 enthusiasts are excited! Especially the Jeep fans. This year, Jeep is bringing the all-new 2018 Jeep Compass onto the Washington roads, and very soon you’ll see this totally re-designed compact crossover vehicle around our cities Seattle, Tacoma, Renton and Puyallup, WA.
2018 Jeep Compass is ready to explore the Seattle, WA region
The usual trims of the Compass will be the Sport, Latitude, Limited and the Trailhawk edition, which is the only trim proudly wearing the “Trail Rated” batch on its body. Doesn’t scream Trail-Rated immediately Washington Cascades and Mt. Rainier? And, speaking of body – the 2018 Compass will almost look like the smaller twin brother of the best-selling Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV. It looks tough, will provide one model for true offroading around the Cascades and the 3 other trim levels handling any bad weather, what we typically experience here in the Seattle area.
2018 Jeep Compass has the Tiger in the tank…let’s go Washington
This 2018 model will be carrying the 2.4-liter “Tigershark” engine. With a torque of 175-lb-ft at 3,900 rpm produced out of 180-hp the Compass will be able to tow up to 2,000-lb as long you opted for the tow-package and the AWD-version. Customers in WA will be able to choose further out of three different drive-trains – a 6-speed manual FWD or AWD, the 6-Aisin-speed automatic with FWD, and a 9-speed automatic which will be available in the Jeep Compass Trailhawk trim line to drive along the Ruston Way or Meridian Avenue in Puyallup, WA.
Let’s hit the Trail…
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be equipped with skid plates, covering transfer case, transmission, the fuel tank and of course the front suspension. Next to the Selec-Terrain mode Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud, the Trailhawk will have also have the setting Rock and will work brilliantly with Selec-Speed Control and the Hill Descent Control system. By choosing mode Auto or Snow, the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is fully engaged.
2018 Jeep Compass – Strength
The 2018 Jeep Compass is built on a Uni-body frame. Jeep further used 65% high-strength steel and created the body structure and sub frame as one single unit to assure more stiffness when going into rugged terrain. All front cross-members also aide to added rigidity.
Jeep Compass Technology
It appears that the Jeep Compass will come equipped with three different screen option housing the 8.4” Uconnect touch screen stereo option or a 5” and 7” unit as well. This new Gen of 7” or 8.4” Radio/Navigation units will include Apple CarPlay as well as AndroidAuto. Further a customizable menu bar will feature functions such as “Send & Go”, allowing the driver to send navigation destinations from their phone to the car directly. It further has a SOS-button and a Concierge/Assist function providing assistance in small mishaps (running out of gas) or starting the car remotely.
Going out in style
The new 2018 Jeep Compass will get a major, visual overhaul not just by a re-design but also in form of colors and visual features. More chrome, options of a glossy black painted roof, glossy black grille features, black headlight bezels and when considered as option, a huge dual-pane sunroof. Inside the cabin, contrast color stitching on seats and steering wheel, chrome vent and instrument cluster bezels bringing a flair of luxury combined with sporty flair
